Athletic Therapy

Athletic Therapy is a profession that specializes in the prevention and care of musculoskeletal disorders (muscles, bones, joints) especially as they relate to athletics and the pursuit of physical activity.

An Athletic Therapist is a certified member of the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association, and is qualified to use the letters CAT(C) after their name.

Who can benefit from Athletic Therapy?

Athletic Therapy can aid anyone suffering pain during sports, work or activities of daily living.  Individual assessments and rehabilitation plans are designed to achieve individual goals.

Insurance Coverage:

Athletic Therapy is covered by many private insurance companies.  Some insurance providers include:

  • Manitoba Public Insurance
  • Workers Compensation Board
  • Blue Cross
  • Great-West Life
  • UofW Student Insurance
  • UofM Student Insurance
  • Canadian Hockey Association
  • Allsport Insurance (most provincial sports associations eg. Manitoba Soccer Association)
  • Manulife Insurance
